C.A.R.E. (Christians Actively Reaching Everyone)
What is C.A.R.E.? C.A.R.E. is a network of GSBC service groups that targets and addresses a wide variety of needs within the church and in the surrounding communities. C.A.R.E. helps coordinate various service activities and it functions as an "umbrella" under which GSBC inreach and outreach efforts come alive.
C.A.R.E. provides the GSBC family opportunities to serve, and it encourages members to live out their faith through actions of justice, peace, and humility. C.A.R.E. helps coordinate inreach and outreach activities such as providing meals and encouragement for the sick, shut-in, and disadvantaged; showing appreciation to volunteers and first responders; participating in community fundraisers and support projects; and much, much more!
C.A.R.E meetings are held twice per month and are a great way to learn about and volunteer for various service projects. Please see the church calendar for meeting dates and times. And please join us at our next meeting!
Opportunities to Serve
The following are just some of the opportunities we have at GSBC to serve and share the love of Christ with those around us.
Blessing Bags: Filling bags with snacks, toiletries, cards, gospel tracts, and other items to bless the homeless, shut-ins, missionaries, first responders, and others.
Caring Meals: Sharing the love of God by providing meals to families who have lost a loved one or who need assistance due to an accident, illness, or financial hardship.
Disciple Makers: Learning then teaching, mentoring, and encouraging others through small groups and Bible fellowship classes. This results in preparing disciples to share the gospel and make disciples of others.
Flowers, Cards, Hospital Visits: Blessing those that need encouragement during a hospital stay, an illness, or loss of a loved one.
Food Pantry: We keep a supply of non-perishable food items on hand for those in need.
GSBC Men's Fellowship: Reach out to teen and adult men of various ages to update and include them in fellowship and ministry.
Greeting Cards, Calls, Family Visits: Celebrating with those that have recently accepted Christ, visited GSBC, have birthdays, or have other reasons to celebrate!
Homeless/Rescue Mission/Food Bank: Helping area shelters by delivering food, clothing, and toiletries for those in need.
Library: GSBC has a large library of Christian books, CDs, and DVDs. These resources are available for check-out any time the main church building is open. The library is located in the lower level of the main building.
Local and Foreign Missions Outreach: We support local ministries as well as foreign missions so that the gospel of Christ is shared throughout our local community and around the world.
Nursery/Children/Youth: Provide safe, caring, Christ-centered educational programs for the entire family.
Nursing Home Ministry: Providing music, visitation, programs, and "joy" therapy for residents.
Women of the Word: Reach out to teen and adult ladies of various ages to update and include them in fellowship and ministry.
