The Men’s ministry is a great way to be involved at Good Shepherd. Through this ministry, men have the opportunity to become more equipped and encouraged in their walk with the Lord! This can be accomplished through study, fellowship and prayer, and service.
“For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword,” – Hebrews 4:12
God has given every man specific instructions for living a righteous life. By studying and applying God’s Word, men will know how to better fulfill God’s will.
Fellowship and Prayer
The men at Good Shepherd get together often to pray and fellowship. This is a great opportunity for men to talk about the challenges they face, and a time to praise and worship the Lord. God wants Christian men that are genuine, and the Men’s ministry is a place where Brothers can lift each other up in prayer.
“They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” – Acts 2:42 (NASB)
The Bible clearly stated that we are saved by the grace of God – that our works cannot earn us salvation. However, the Lord has saved us to serve Him. Paul writes in Ephesians 2:10 that we are “God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,”
The goal of the Men’s ministry is lift high the name of Jesus Christ in everything we do. The motivation for this ministry is to see men drawing closer to God, and leading their families in a godly way.
The Men’s ministry holds official gatherings on the first and third Monday of each month. All meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. and are scheduled to end at approximately 8:15 p.m.
Men are also encouraged to gather weekly for small group Bible studies, prayer times and accountability meetings.
