Here at God Shepherd we believe that all believers should have a great commitment to the Great Commission. Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” In addition to being a continual partner with the North American and International Mission Boards, we provide numerous opportunities to go overseas and experience missions first hand. Everyone can be a part of taking the gospel to the world. Whether it’s by prayer, finances, or just a simple word of encouragement we all must do our part.
While we understand our calling to go to the end of the world, we also feel the burden to be a lighthouse in the New River Valley and throughout America. Through many acts of service in our community we seek to SHOW the love of Christ in a very personal way. This leads to numerous opportunities to SHARE the love of Christ with countless others. These efforts combined with our G.R.O.W. ministry assist us in reaching the lost, making disciples, and connecting them to this local church body. If you want to make a difference for Christ in our community, come join us at Good Shepherd and discover your purpose in God’s plan to reach the world.
Missionaries we Support:
- Through our support of Cooperative Program we support missionaries all over the world.
- In addition to this effort we also minister directly to missionaries in France, Africa, and China. Because of the sensitive nature of their names and locations you must be a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church to learn how you too can pray for and financially support these specific ministries
- Steve Creme - Steve and his family left a medical practice behind in texas to pursue God's work with the French. They have partnered with TEAM to help start churches in five target areas by 2010.
