What We Value

The following represents what we as a church truly value:

We value the worship of God as His ultimate desire for all persons; not as an act, but as a lifestyle, experiencing worship personally on a daily basis and weekly through a local church, understanding the priority of the teaching, and preaching of God's Word in a relevant way in the worship experience.

We value the joy of serving God, believing that each believer has been given spiritual gifts and needs to be involved in at least one service ministry through the church of Jesus Christ.

We value the journey of becoming like Jesus Christ, understanding this challenge is possible only through deepening our walk with Him as we learn all we can about Him from His Word and from other people, so we will be skilled in living life God's way. Discipleship is assisted at Good Shepherd through the various Bible Fellowship Classes and weekly small groups.

We value family at whatever stage you may be in your life, believing that God has called us to provide your family with the needed life skills that will result in successful family living.

We value preschoolers, children, and teenagers in every way because we want to join God in raising up the next generation that will have the power to change the world.

We value the ethic and calling of work, desiring to equip you for the purpose of entering your workplace to make a significant difference in the way you live and in the way you carry out work in your business or corporate setting.

We value the entire community of Southwest Virginia, desiring to join all leaders in our region to make this part of America a special place for family, work, and church.

We value the local church in mission, ministry, and membership, knowing it should have a very special place in our lives since Jesus died for the church. In addition, we value the church of Southwest Virginia that is present in other local churches besides ours who have experienced the life-changing power of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We value who you are in life as seen through the eyes of God, wanting to assist you personally to be all God wants you to be in your life.
